I’ve been stopping by Van’s Bakery for years whenever I need a cake for a birthday, holiday gathering, or when I want to bring a dessert as a gift. One cake I end up buying pretty often is their durian birthday cake. My friend’s mom really likes it, so whenever we celebrate her birthday, I usually come here to pick one up. The decorations and colors have more of a traditional old school style rather than the softer, modern cake designs you see these days, but the flavor is what keeps I coming back. The durian filling is delicious, and I like that there’s coconut inside as well. Besides birthday cakes, they also carry a variety of other pastries and desserts. The prices have always seemed reasonable to me, and it’s the kind of bakery that’s easy for just about anyone to stop by and find something they like. The bakery is located in the ABC supermarket plaza, which can get pretty busy at times, but I’ve never had much trouble finding parking since the lot is fairly large. The staff have always been friendly and pleasant during my visits. Whenever I need a cake for a special occasion, this is usually one of the places that comes to mind.

Post 5 years due. Our wedding reception recommended this bakery and immediately felt the prejudice NOT being Vietnamese even though my husband is. Nothing was confirmed as we only got a QUOTE, for a possible wedding cake. We paid NOTHING. I guess from their end they thought I was going to book with them. They got mad at me for not informing them a month or so before. They literally scolded me over the phone and said "Don't do that again". With me planning a wedding, I didn't have time to follow-up. Although they were able to get ahold of me, they still got mad since I didn't go through with the cake. Treat NON-Vietnamese people right and you'll get more customers. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Had the most beautiful wedding cake made here! I saw a picture of a cake they made and asked them to copy it. They made the cake plain and we added our own roses and decor. Did 3 flavors for each tier and the best part is how affordable it was! Cake prices are crazy at regular American bakeries. This cake was one of the highlights of my wedding

Great little Vietnamese bakery that offers alot of pastries and other food items. The coffee is straight gas, strong, to the point, and will wake you up and the bao was delicious to pick up. Also picked up bánh phu thê and was not disappointed for eating the sweet treat. Worth a visit if you're in the mood for Vietnamese baked goods.

We usually come here during lunar new year but this time we got a birthday cake for our nephew. His mom got her wedding cake and loved the strawberry cake. We were going to get just a slice as a "smash cake" but they had several sizes. So we went with the smallest mini cake. It's very basic decoration with either blue, pink, white, or yellow icing. Since he's a boy, I wanted blue but it turns out blue is blue berry flavor. To get strawberry, it had to be pink. Depending on the season and holiday, you'll find other pastries throughout the store. This time around it's endless moon cakes! I love that you can get a single one and try different flavors instead of getting the ones in the box of four. Luckily this place was not crowded because places in OC don't seem to follow COVID procedures. No one does the social distance and people touch the packages and put them back. I'm not proud of how viet business are careless. You can argue that it's like a grocery store but this is a bakery. For that, I knocked down a star. However, the baby loved the cake.
